Meet Mirna Martinez: Office fashionista, mom, friend and aspiring Interior Designer, with a love for design and a passion for all those around her.
Mirna is one of the friendliest faces at Dixon Advisory USA. Beginning as an Office Coordinator, Mirna and her fellow front office ladies were responsible for giving each caller, visitor and client a great first impression of the company. Shortly thereafter, Mirna moved into her role as Executive Assistant of Legal and Government Relations where she works tirelessly to keep things running smoothly in the Legal department every day.
A New Jersey City University alumna, Mirna began her studies in Accounting. “I started studying accounting to follow in my mom’s footsteps, and simultaneously worked toward a minor in Early Childhood Education. I always saw myself as a creative person and eventually realized I couldn’t apply that to a future accounting job. Two years later, I had my son and left the accounting world behind.” Instead, she shifted gears and decided to put her Early Childhood Education minor to work. “Shortly after I had my son, a friend introduced me to a teaching job. It was a really rewarding job, so leaving was tough, but there was no room for growth there so I decided to apply to Dixon.” Jancer Guzman, one of Dixon’s Leasing Managers, had referred Mirna to the Office Coordinator position. “I saw the creativity that Dixon was putting out into the world and heard about the amazing culture here, so I gave it a shot.” Thus began Mirna’s time with Dixon.

With a passion for design and a keen interest in interior design specifically, Mirna was instantly inspired by the work of Dixon’s Architecture and Design team. She decided to enroll herself in the University of San Francisco’s Academy of Art program. “I’m currently taking online courses to earn my degree in Architecture and Interior Design. I want to create beautiful homes one day, too.” In the meantime, Mirna lends her artistic talents to many of her Dixon co-workers. "I love to draw so I'll sit with Diony or the girls during my break and just draw." Mirna's bright-colored sticky note doodles can be found on various computer monitors throughout the office.
